Content Highlights

Module 1 Content

"Running Effective Meetings" equips participants with the skills and principles necessary for conducting productive and impactful meetings within a sociocratic framework. It covers foundational concepts such as the need for governance, the history of sociocracy, and the four basic principles: Consent, Circle Structure, Double Linking, and Open Elections. Participants learn about the dynamics of sociocratic meetings, including focusing on a common aim, facilitation techniques, and distinguishing between policy and operations.

Module 2 Content

"Co-Working in Self-Determined Teams" immerses participants in practical, real-world projects while delving deep into the fundamental principles of sociocracy. Participants collaborate in small groups to work on actual projects, applying concepts such as building circles, defining common aims, and implementing the Aim Realization Process. The training covers governance roles, task distribution, and effective leadership techniques, fostering role improvement and personal development.

Facilitator Certification Content

In mentored Community of Practice groups for facilitators, participants document and discuss facilitation experiences in preparation for facilitator certification. Certification involves submitting facilitation reports, participating in supervised learning, and undergoing performance evaluations conducted by certified mentors, peers, and clients.

Module 3 Content

"Building Equivalent Organizations" is an immersive workshop designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to implement sociocracy within their own environments. The training begins with self-implementation, guiding participants to reach inner consent, before progressing to organizational implementation and securing sociocracy within society. Key topics include designing sociocratic structures, securing participatory decision-making through legal structures, and fostering cooperation between labor and capital. Participants engage in real projects with fellow participants, which continue beyond the course and form the basis of ongoing Communities of Practice. Completion of Module 3 and Facilitator Certification is required for entry into the Consultant Certification program.

Module 4 Content

"Starting Implementations & Client Agreements" equips consultants with skills for implementing sociocracy in client organizations. Participants learn the four-phase implementation process, client acquisition, advertising methodology, and developing implementation offers. They also gain insights into working with implementation circles, measurement criteria, and receive mentorship from certified sociocracy consultants, fostering practical application and implementation success.

Module 5 Content

"Leading the Pilot Phase of Implementation" is focusing on consultants' mastery of the implementation circle's role in organizational change. Participants work with circles to craft structures and plans, including training delivery. Topics include FAQs, decision structure variations, tailored plans, and training clients on circle leadership, sociocracy principles, and policy-execution distinctions. Exercises address circle roles, elections, and certification documentation.

Module 6 Content

"Leading a Full Organizational Implementation" is honing consultants' practical expertise. Participants refine pilot phase training steps, establish common aims, and transition sociocratic responsibility to the organization. They learn to coach managers, organize internal teams, and facilitate ongoing development. Topics include circle management, facilitation coaching, KPIs, evaluation, and peer group establishment.

Module 7 Content

"Making the Implementation Sustainable" is focusing on ensuring the lasting impact of sociocracy within client organizations. Participants practice refining the final phase of their consulting process, including transferring sociocratic systems to the organization. Activities include implementing top circles and anchoring sociocracy in legal statutes. Participants also delve into internal team development, performance evaluations, and ongoing system evaluations to maintain sociocracy's vitality within the organization.

Module 8 Content

"Capstone Workshop & Certification Support" marks the apex of the certification program. The workshop facilitates content review, sharing field innovations, crafting personal development plans, and deciding next steps for certification by the International Sociocracy Certification Board (ISCB). Additionally, the workshop fosters the formation of ongoing peer support groups as Communities of Practice, ensuring continued learning and professional growth beyond certification.

Community of Practice Content

The mentored Community of Practice offers crucial support for organizational consultants starting their sociocracy implementation journey. After Module 4, participants begin their first implementations with certified mentors, documenting client meetings for certification reports. Activities are assigned with consent from both mentor and candidate. Subsequent projects may involve different mentors but are typically supervised by the peer group, allowing candidates to work more independently. Certification reports receive mentor and peer feedback before submission to the certification committee. Upon certification, paperwork is forwarded to the ISCB for issuance of certificates, marking a celebratory milestone.
